Mark Allen through to meet Judd Trump at UK Championships
Northern Ireland's Mark Allen is through to meet Judd Trump in the last 16 of the UK Championships after beating Michael Holt 6-5 on Tuesday.
It will be a repeat of the 2011 final - Allen's first in a ranking tournament - which Trump won 10-8.
World number nine Allen raced into a 3-0 lead in Tuesday's morning third round match but Nottingham man Holt fought back to level at 3-3.
It went down to the final frame which Allen clinched convincingly.
Allen, who had earlier fired a 113 break, made 56 in the decider to seal the slender victory.
"It was a good match without being a classic for scoring," said Allen.
"It was tense. That was good because it got the adrenaline pumping, which hasn't been there the first couple of rounds."
Allen had started his UK challenge with a 6-1 victory over Jak Jones of Wales, followed by a 6-2 success over Dave Harold of Stoke at the Barbican Centre in York.
