Ospreys have agreed a new deal with "relentless" flanker Harri Deaves.

The 24-year-old backrow had made 25 appearances for the region since breaking through with Pontyclun.

A former Wales Under-20s international, Deaves has impressed with his work-rate with two other Welshmen making more tackles in the United Rugby Championship (URC) this season.

He said: "To sign a new contract with the club that has given me so much means the world to me.

"I'm excited about what we're building here and looking forward to achieving great things with this team.

His signing comes at the end of a week that has seen fly-half Dan Edwards, full-back Max Nagy, prop Tom Botha and wing Kealan Giles all commit their future to the Swansea-based region.

Ospreys head coach Toby Booth added: "He is a promising talent who has a relentless competitive streak.

"He has the ability to influence games and a thirst for working hard. As he improves, I am sure we will see his influence more and more. He's going to be an integral part of our squad in the years to come.

"His progression from the academy to the first team is a shining example of our pathway success."
