Wales and Ospreys scrum-half Rhys Webb has signed a dual contract with his region and the Welsh Rugby Union.

The 26-year-old becomes the eighth player to sign a dual contract, following Sam Warburton, Dan Lydiate, Jake Ball, Samson Lee, Rhodri Jones, Tyler Morgan and Hallam Amos.

The length of the contract has not been disclosed.

"I'm enjoying my rugby at the Ospreys and with Wales and this allows me to build on that," said Webb.

"Now my future is confirmed, I can focus all my attention on becoming a better rugby player."

Webb has established himself as Wales' first-choice scrum-half this season, starting all four of their 2015 Six Nations matches so far.

He scored a try against England and Scotland, adding to touchdowns against Australia and New Zealand in the autumn.

"Rhys has established himself as a proven international scrum-half and fully deserves a national dual contract," said Wales head coach Warren Gatland.

"He has impressed at regional level for Ospreys and this ensures his future here, which will prove an enormous benefit to professional rugby in Wales."

Webb came through the ranks at Ospreys and, since making his debut in 2008, has made 116 regional appearances to date, scoring 20 tries.
