London Welsh: Lyn Jones issues plea to people of Oxford
London Welsh head coach Lyn Jones has urged the people of Oxford to support his team in their battle against relegation.
Welsh, who moved to the Kassam Stadium this season, lost out to Gloucester by a single point on Saturday and are five points adrift at the foot of the table.
Jones told 91热爆 Oxford: "I want to preach to the people of Oxford to come and support us.
"If people come out to support us it really does give the boys an edge."
He added: "We've got two home games, finishing off with Worcester on 4 May, and we've found in the last month that when we've been on the road the away support has been a factor.
"We want that in Oxford. We've got two home games and we're confident we can win both."
With the score level at 6-6 at half-time against Gloucester, Freddie Burns kicked three successive penalties to cancel out Phil MacKenzie's try and seal the win for the visitors.
And Jones admitted it was a major blow to lose the game in such fashion.
"We came here to win so it is heart-breaking to lose the game in the last minute," he said.
"We've got to dust ourselves off and come back stronger next week.
"What's important is what happens on the field and the players can only influence the scoreboard.
"We'll keep working hard, knuckle down and we'll get our just rewards."
