Gloucester have denied speculation that second-row forward Jim Hamilton is set to join French side Montpellier.

The 30-year-old Scotland international is contracted at Kingsholm until the end on the 2014 season and took over the club captaincy in August.

Racing Metro are also rumoured to be interested in Hamilton and either side could buy the lock out of his contract.

With no salary cap for Top 14 sides the former Leicester and Edinburgh forward would likely increase his current wage.
