Goode pushed by Carlisle says Worcester Warriors coach Davies
Worcester Warriors fly-half Andy Goode has become a better player because of the form of Joe Carlisle, says the Warriors forwards coach Phil Davies.
Goode spent time out of the starting XV in favour of Carlisle but has scored three tries in his last three games.
Davies told 91热爆 Hereford and Worcester: "Andy has been made to fight a bit for his place. Joe's enthusiasm and skill has spurred 'Goodey' on to do better.
"They've worked well as a combination, they are good pals."
Davies continued: "The result is that we have two fly halves who everyone is comfortable with, whoever plays we know they are going to do a good job."
Although Goode has stated he felt he did not have anything to prove, his form since coming on at half-time in the Premiership win against Gloucester on 7 January has been outstanding, including a fine individual .
Meanwhile, Warriors centre Alex Grove is back on the international scene and has been included in the Scotland 'A' squad to face England Saxons at Galashiels on Friday, 3 February.
Grove, who has three full caps for his country, spent part of last season on loan at Edinburgh.
