Ben Foden aims to banish World Cup memories in Europe
Northampton full-back Ben Foden says he is relishing a return to Heineken Cup rugby and wants to forget England's frustrating World Cup campaign.
start their campaign at Munster on Saturday.
"I didn't want to dwell on the World Cup. I wanted to get my head down here at Saints," Foden told 91热爆 Look East.
"We're capable of doing good things [in Europe]. A lot of people wrote us off last year and [we were almost] out the back door with the trophy."
"The main focus when we returned to the Premiership [after relegation] was to get back in the Heineken Cup, playing against some of the best in the world," added Foden.
"With the frustration of last year, hopefully we can build on that towards another major final."
Since returning from New Zealand, the 26-year-old father-to-be has played three full matches for Northampton Saints, but is yet to add to his 20 career tries to date.
"I'm yet to hit full flight, and there's plenty more to come from me. Hopefully I'll keep creeping up in the stats as well as playing sensible rugby.
"I enjoy these occasions and I know it'll be a sell-out with 20,000 Irish fans going crazy.
"We're quietly confident, we've worked hard and hopefully we'll put in a good performance."
