Exeter Chiefs re-sign prop John Andress from Harlequins
Exeter Chiefs have re-signed prop John Andress two years after he left the club for Harlequins.
The 27-year-old returns to Sandy Park on a year-long deal, becoming the club's seventh new signing ahead of next term.
Head coach Rob Baxter said: "He's more of a modern prop who does more than just the set-pieces, he tackles and likes to carry the ball.
"He's a good signing. There is going to be a lot of competition in the squad."
Baxter continued: "I like the look of the front five, I think it's an area where we're going to have a lot of strength."
Andress will be one of six props in the Chiefs' first-team squad next season, with fellow newcomer Craig Mitchell joining regulars Chris Budgen, Hoani Tui, Brett Sturgess and Ben Moon.
"I'm really looking forward to coming back to Exeter," said Andress.
"I had two really good years down there and I loved every minute of it.
"The people at the club, the supporters, the whole community was something I really took to, so it was a pretty easy decision to make once I knew Rob was interested in bringing me back."
