Nottingham Rugby Club have brought lock Nic Rouse back to the club on a two-year contract.

The 30-year-old first joined the Green and Whites in 2006, before leaving for Premiership side Sale Sharks in 2010.

Nottingham director of rugby Glenn Delaney said: "He's a great player with great Premiership experience.

"Nic was a mainstay of the squad during his several years with Nottingham and naturally we're delighted to have him come back."

Rouse, a product of the Bath academy, made 120 appearances in his first four-year stint with the club.

"It was an easy decision. I'm massively excited by a return to Nottingham Rugby," Rouse said.

"I've learned and improved so much in my time with Sale Sharks, but I couldn't turn down the opportunity to try and aspire to that level with the players and coaching team at Nottingham, many of whom I already have so many good memories with.

"I can't wait to rise to the challenges and get stuck in with the guys, not to mention getting back to my home in Nottingham, a sports mad city that deserves top-level rugby."
