Gareth Hock: Leigh Centurions sign former Salford forward
Championship side Leigh Centurions have signed forward Gareth Hock following his release by Salford Red Devils.
The 31-year-old, who made 191 appearances for Wigan, has joined until the end of this season and next year.
Hock is currently serving a six-match suspension for twice recklessly using his knees in the heavy home defeat against St Helens on 12 February.
The Centurions, who won the second-tier title last season, are second in the division.
"Things that I did last week, I don't like losing so it was probably a bit of frustration which I'm working on," Hock told 91热爆 Radio Manchester.
"This seems like getting back to winning ways and a winning club, like it was when I was at Wigan.
"I don't think I should have got six games myself but I don't think the Rugby Football League like me too much."
Hock served a two-year suspension in 2009 after while playing for Wigan.
The Wigan-born player was also expelled from the England squad before the 2013 World Cup following "serious breaches of team discipline".
He received a seven-match suspension in 2014 for making deliberate physical contact with a referee in Salford's match against Hull, and was given and four-match bans for committing similar offences in 2008 and 2013.
