Leeds prop Kylie Leuluai has committed his immediate future to the club by signing a new one-year contract.

The deal, until the end of next season, will now see the 33-year-old end his career at Headingley.

Rhinos coach Brian McDermott told 91热爆 Radio Leeds: "Other people get a lot of credit, and rightly so.

"Kylie doesn't get as much credit as he probably should. He's one of those unsung heroes where his numbers are always good after a game," he added.

"But, more than that, the presence he has on a field is big for us.

"He's also very good for us off the field as well - some of that leadership that every team needs, somebody to lead from the front and show people the right way to go.

"He's a strong-natured character so we're really pleased he's staying and he's going to improve as he gets older."

from NRL side Manly in 2007, has won three Grand Finals and one World Club Championship title with the club.

"At 33, I know there are some people who will question whether I can continue to produce my best," said the Samoan international. "But, if I did not believe I could still make a massive contribution to the club, I would not have signed.

"Next year will definitely be my last year as I have other interests I am looking to pursue after rugby.

"However, I want to go out on a high with a big 18 months ahead of us."
