Jonathan Rea adds to points tally at Jerez round
Jonathan Rea added to his points tally by taking fourth and fifth place finishes at the World Superbike Championship round at Jerez in Spain.
The Pata Honda rider remains third in the championship standings on 285 points, with Tom Sykes leading on 352 and Sylvain Guintoli second on 321.
Eugene Laverty was sixth in both events and lies seventh in the series overall.
Both races were won by Italian Marco Melandri, with his Aprilia team-mate Sylvian Guintoli twice runner-up.
Rea made his way through the field after beginning in 10th place in race one, eventually overhauling Sykes to finish fourth.
The Ballyclare rider then came out on top in an intense battle for fifth in race two, getting the better of Laverty with four laps remaining.
Two rounds of the championship remain, at Magny Cours on 5 October and Losail on 2 November.
