National League: Tyrone 0-8 0-14 Cork

Tyrone fell to their first defeat of 2013 as Cork proved too strong in Sunday's Division One match in Omagh.

Donnacha O'Connor impressed as an early replacement for Cork and scored a couple of points while Colm O'Neill got two frees and a point from play.

That helped Cork to a 0-8 to 0-4 half-time lead which they then extended.

Ronan O'Neill scored two with Tyrone's other points by Kyle Coney, Stephen O'Neill, Sean Cavanagh, Joe McMahon, Martin Penrose and Conor Gormley.

After eight successive wins in the McKenna Cup and National league, this was a first reverse of the year for Mickey Harte's men.

They had pulled themselves level after going three points down early on - Ronan O'Neill getting off the mark on 19 minutes with a score from play from a tight angle and Stpehen O'Neill and Coney making it 0-3 each with scores from play.

O'Neill and O'Connor put Cork back in front and, after Cavanagh's free for Tyrone, they added further scores from Aidan Walsh, O'Connor and Paul Kerrigan for a four-point interval advantage.

Walsh and O'Neill landed two more apiece after the break with other Cork scores coming through Mark Collins and Paul Kerrigan.

It was Cork's second win of the Division One campaign while Tyrone stay on six points.

Tyrone are away to Dublin in their next game on Saturday night.
