Cal Crutchlow passed fit to race at Assen MotoGP

Cal Crutchlow will race at Assen this weekend a week after an operation on his broken collarbone.

The 25-year-old fractured his left collarbone in five places at and has had a metal plate inserted.

His Tech 3 Yamaha team-mate Colin Edwards finished third in that race despite the same injury.

Crutchlow said on : "I have been passed fit to ride this weekend at Assen after an operation."

The Coventry-born rider is one of three MotoGP riders to suffer a broken collarbone in recent weeks; Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa misses his third race in a row this weekend and is .

Crutchlow confimed that he had a plate and seven screws inserted into the fracture and said: "I can only try my best."
