Devils suffer first Elite League defeat at Giants

Cardiff Devils suffered their first defeat of the Elite League season as they lost 3-1 to Belfast Giants at the SSE Arena.

Jarrod Gourley fired Cardiff ahead six minutes into the opening period, but Elijiah Barriga levelled proceedings midway through the third period.

Barriga then notched a second before Jordan Kawaguchi struck his side's third to seal victory for the hosts.

Devils return to action at Guildford Flames on Sunday (18:00 BST). Giants travel to Fife Flyers on Wednesday (19:30 BST).
