Belfast Giants bounced back from Friday's defeat by Braehead with a comfortable Elite League win over the Capitals at the Odyssey Arena.

The champions made a blistering start and were 3-0 ahead after eight minutes with Mark Garside, Craig Peacock and Daryl Lloyd on target.

Dave Phillips added a fourth in the second period and Colin Shields struck in the third period.

The Giants lie four points behind league leaders Nottingham Panthers.

Nottingham enjoyed an 8-3 home victory over Coventry Blaze on Saturday night.
