Sony Open: Jimmy Walker retains title with nine-shot win
Jimmy Walker won the Sony Open for the second year in a row with a nine-shot victory at the Waialae Country Club.
The 36-year-old American, who took a two-stroke advantage into the final day, stretched clear with a seven-under 63 to finish on 23 under par.
Compatriot Scott Piercy was second after closing with a 66, with England's Brian Davis tied sixth after a 67.
Scot Russell Knox was tied 13th with Englishmen Paul Casey and Luke Donald tied for 30th and 51st respectively.
Victory for Walker was his fourth on the PGA Tour and came a week after he was beaten in a play-off by Patrick Reed at the Tournament of Champions.
Runner-up Piercy said: "He's one of the hottest players in the world. What he's done the last year or two years, nobody's catching him."
