Ryder Cup: Jamie Donaldson effort wins shot of the year
Jamie Donaldson has won the European Tour's shot of the year award for the wedge shot that clinched the Ryder Cup for Europe.
The Welshman's approach to the 15th at Gleneagles secured a win in his match against Keegan Bradley and ensured Paul McGinley's side retained the trophy.
"I said at the time I'd just hit the shot of my life, given the circumstances," Donaldson said.
"I'll never get tired of talking about it. It was such an amazing moment."
The award is voted for by the public, with Donaldson receiving 32% of the vote.
South African Charl Schwartzel was second with a recovery shot, and France's Victor Dubuisson - another Ryder Cup player - was third with his escape from a cactus.
