Oxford sign Kioso from Rotherham
Oxford United have signed right-back Peter Kioso from Rotherham United for an undisclosed fee.
The Dublin-born 24-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at Peterborough before featuring 12 times for the Millers, who were relegated from the Championship.
Oxford were promoted to the second tier through the League One play-offs and Kioso is their third signing of the summer, following the recent arrivals of Will Vaulks and Jacob Knightbridge.
鈥淭he reason I wanted to sign is because it鈥檚 a club that knows what direction they want to go in. I want to be part of that as the club have full belief and I do too," he .
鈥淚 want to help the team get stronger. There is a great team here and I need to show the boys why I deserve to be here.鈥
Kioso joined Rotherham from Luton in 2022 and made a total of 25 appearances for the Yorkshire club. He was previously at Hartlepool and his career has also included spells on loan at MK Dons, Bolton and Northampton.
鈥淲e are really excited to bring a player of Peter鈥檚 ability into our team," said Oxford boss Des Buckingham.
鈥淧eter brings a lot of qualities. He is a player that fits into the profile we are looking for at the right-back position and he will add to the way we want to play as a team.
鈥淣ot only that, but he is also a very good character so we feel he will add to the level we currently have at the club both on and off the pitch."
Oxford have not disclosed the length of Kioso's contract.
