Swansea could still earn about 拢2m from Piroe's Leeds move
Swansea City could yet benefit from a promotion clause in the deal that took Joel Piroe to Leeds United last summer.
Swansea would have received about 拢2m as part of the Piroe transfer had Leeds beaten Southampton in last Sunday鈥檚 Championship play-off final.
The Whites鈥 defeat at Wembley means there will be no additional payment for Piroe this summer.
However, the promotion clause runs for the duration of the four-year contract Piroe signed when he joined Leeds in a deal worth in excess of 拢10m.
The striker, 24, scored 14 goals in 49 appearances in his first season at Leeds.
The Elland Road club are likely to start the 2024-25 season as one of the favourites to win promotion to the Premier League.
They missed out on an immediate return to the top flight after being beaten 1-0 in the play-off final by Southampton, who are managed by former Swansea boss Russell Martin.
