Jerome Boateng: Former Bayern Munich defender signs for Lyon
Lyon have signed former Bayern Munich centre-back Jerome Boateng on a free transfer.
Boateng, 32, has signed a two-year contract with the French club.
Bayern announced in April that the defender, a World Cup winner with Germany in 2014, would be leaving after 10 years at the club.
Boateng, signed from Manchester City in 2011, won 22 trophies at Bayern, including the Champions League twice and the Bundesliga nine times.
The defender also won five German Cups, two Club World Cups, two Uefa Super Cups and two German Super Cups with Bayern.
The defender, Lyon's fifth recruit of the summer transfer window, attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs over the summer, including Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham.
