Curtis Nelson: Plymouth Argyle turn down 'derisory' Barnsley offer for captain
Plymouth Argyle have confirmed they turned down a "derisory" offer from newly-promoted Championship side Barnsley for captain Curtis Nelson.
The 23-year-old centre back is out of contract at the end of the month, but has been offered a new deal.
As he is under the age of 24, the Devon side are entitled to compensation for the ex-Stoke trainee if he leaves.
"We can confirm that we have rejected a derisory offer from Barnsley for the player," said
"Curtis remains under contract to us and any approach to him without our approval would be in contravention of EFL (English Football League) rules."
