Darren Ferguson: Doncaster Rovers being relegated would be a nightmare
Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson says his side must win their remaining three games if they are to avoid relegation from League One.
Rovers are five points adrift of safety with three games to play.
"I said when we had five games to go the minimum we needed was four wins and a draw," he told 91热爆 Radio Sheffield.
"There's no getting away from the fact that it would be an absolute nightmare if we got relegated for all different reasons."
He continued: "We've managed to keep ourselves alive and the message to the players is 'focus on the game in front of you, do your job and hopefully take it to the next game'."
Doncaster could be relegated on Saturday if they lose at home to Coventry, Fleetwood beat relegation rivals Blackpool and Shrewsbury win at Gillingham.
Ferguson admitted that the players and staff will face pay cuts should the team go down, adding: "There'll be salary cuts and everyone is aware of what the ramifications will be.
"It's simply the way it should be done. If you go up a league then you get an increase and if you get relegated it goes down.
"Everyone is fully aware of their responsibilities."
