York City sign Derek Riordan and Lubo Satka

York City have signed ex-Scotland striker Derek Riordan on a deal to the end of the season and Newcastle's Lubo Satka on loan for a month.

Riordan, 33, impressed in a two-week trial with the League Two club.

Slovak defender Satka, 20, made his debut for the Magpies in last season's FA Cup third-round defeat by Leicester City - his only appearance for them.

Both players could feature for the Minstermen in Saturday's home fixture against Stevenage.

Jackie McNamara's men are currently bottom of the Football League, three points adrift of safety.
