John Sheridan: Oldham Athletic approach Newport County for boss
League One Oldham Athletic have made a formal approach to speak to Newport County boss John Sheridan after sacking David Dunn, the Welsh club have said.
Oldham parted company with Dunn, 36, on Tuesday after just 20 games in charge.
A Newport club statement said the board were meeting to discuss the situation surrounding Sheridan, 51, who has won five of his 17 matches since taking charge at Rodney Parade on 2 October.
He was previously Oldham's boss before in March 2009.
Assistant Warren Feeney and first-team coach Michael Flynn will take charge of the side for the rest of the season if Sheridan leaves, 91热爆 Wales Sport understands.
The Exiles' statement added that the club will make a further announcement on Wednesday.
