John Baird's early strike helped Falkirk move back to second in the Scottish Championship with a win at bottom-of-the-table Alloa.

Will Vaulks' shot was parried by Andy McNeil into the path of Baird and the well-travelled 30-year-old made no mistake with the follow-up.

He had another effort well saved before goalkeeper Danny Rogers did the same at the other end to deny Robbie Crawford.

Substitute Kevin O'Hara and Vaulks were both denied superbly by Andy McNeil.
