Peterborough forward Conor Washington believes his side can benefit from the "crazy" nature of League One this term.

Graham Westley's Posh are 12th in the table, three points off both the play-off places and relegation zone.

"This league has been absolutely crazy so far this season. Usually in League One there's a runaway one or two, but this season it's madness," he said.

"There's no reason why we can't string a few results together and get to where we want and deserve to be."

While Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's Burton Albion are three points clear at the top of the table, Posh are two points behind a Colchester side who had not won until mid-September.

Peterborough have won two of their three League One matches since Westley was appointed manager, scoring nine goals in the process, including five in Saturday's defeat of Millwall.

And Washington says Westley's team set-up, which included five attack-minded players on Saturday, has helped the forwards find the net.

"I think the change in formation has suited our strikers a lot more now. That shows in the results and how many goals we've been scoring," Washington told 91热爆 Radio Cambridgeshire.

"We looked harder to beat at the start of the season, but now we're playing football and passing a lot more, and as a striker it's nice to be on the end of that."
