Port Vale: Chris Birchall agrees new 12-month contract
Trinidad and Tobago international midfielder Chris Birchall has signed a new one-year contract with Port Vale.
Birchall, 31, began his career with the Valiants before having spells with Coventry City, Brighton, Los Angeles Galaxy and Columbus Crew.
He rejoined Vale in 2013 and played 30 times last season, scoring three goals.
"He's a local lad who knows what Port Vale is all about and he's an extremely hard-working player as well," boss Rob Page
Birchall scored nine goals in 91 appearances for Vale before moving to Coventry in 2006 and at LA Galaxy.
He has 43 caps for Trinidad and Tobago and played all three of their group games at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
Birchall follows fellow midfielder Michael O'Connor in agreeing a new contract at the League One club.
