Former Ross County boss Derek Adams has been named as Plymouth Argyle's new manager.

The 39-year-old Scot succeeds John Sheridan, who left the League Two club by mutual consent last month.

The Pilgrims reached the play-offs this season but lost 5-3 on aggregate to Wycombe at the semi-final stage.

Adams, who was sacked by Scottish Premier League side Ross County last August, will be presented at 91热爆 Park on Thursday.

Adams guided the Dingwall-based club into the top flight for the first time in 2012, two years after taking them to the Scottish Cup final.

He left County in 2010 to become assistant manager at Hibernian, but returned for a second stint in charge the following year.

The length of his contract has not been revealed.
