Cambridge United will spend their FA Cup windfall sprucing up the toilets, says chairman Dave Doggett.

The U's held Manchester United 0-0 at the Abbey Stadium on Friday to secure a lucrative replay at Old Trafford, which is expected to be worth more than £1m.

"Hopefully we can get the stadium done and start putting in some proper toilets," Doggett told

"Some toilets and tea bars and more hospitality - that's what we will do."

The Cambridge board have been desperate to upgrade their 8,000-capacity stadium, which hosted non-league football for nine years until last summer's return to League Two.

But the ground is owned by a property developer, who wants to secure a deal to build houses on the other side of the city before improving the club's stadium.

Give kids a day off?

The U's will now face the 11-time FA Cup winners at Old Trafford on Tuesday 3, February and have been given an initial allocation of 9,000 seats.

Doggett told 91�ȱ� Radio Cambridgeshire: "It's a shame it's a school night isn't it?

"I'm just hoping someone from the education department might be listening and may be a bit lenient and let them leave school early and get in late the next day.

"It's a once in a lifetime experience, it would be a great gesture."

Now for Dagenham

After the delirium of holding Louis van Gaal's Premier League giants, Cambridge move on to hosting League Two strugglers Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday.

A win could put Richard Money's side within three points of the play-offs.

"We've got a big game coming up on Tuesday night. It might not sound like it, but we have to prepare right and that includes Dagenham at home," said midfielder Tom Champion.
