Newport County: No Rodney Parade return for Darcy Blake

Newport County will not be signing Wales international Darcy Blake.

The club had considered a New Year return after Blake spent six months without a club.

Blake, 26, failed to find a club in the summer after leaving Newport at the end of the 2013-14 season.

Manager Justin Edinburgh confirmed the defender had trained at Rodney Parade, but now says the deal will not happen, andthat financial reasons are not behind the decision.

Before stating Blake would not return to Newport, Edinburgh had said: "It would be an absolute waste if the boy didn't get back into the pro game."
