Wolves may be without midfielder Tommy Rowe for three months because of the broken toe he sustained on Boxing Day.

The 26-year-old utility man has been in for surgery after breaking his fifth metatarsal in the 1-0 win at Watford.

"Tommy has had an operation," said head coach Kenny Jackett. "He will be out for about three months.

"It's an amazing situation. With all the training he's done, he struck a ball up the line within two minutes of coming on and the injury happened."

Rowe recovered from a stress fracture to the same bone back in the summer.

"That has been Tommy's season so far," added Jackett. "It's really frustrating. But he has quality and personal commitment in abundance and will come back.

"Whether it's the end of this season or the next season, he will still be a very good Wolves player."
