Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel says boss Nigel Pearson knows how to get the best out of Leicester City's players and can lead them to Premier League safety.

Leicester have not won in seven matches and are third from bottom.

Saturday's 0-0 draw against Sunderland was the fifth consecutive game in which they have failed to score.

"I think the world of Nigel Pearson as a manager and I know he will get it right. He knows how to manage us," Schmeichel told 91热爆 Radio Leicester.

Schmeichel was a key member of the Foxes side that clinched promotion as Championship title winners under Pearson last term.

"We know the gaffer and the gaffer knows how we are," the 28-year-old said.

"We have a great group of lads and I have every faith in the players, the management and the set-up of the club - we will get it right."

The Denmark international has started all of Leicester's last five games, conceding six goals before keeping his first Premier League clean sheet for the club to earn a point against the Black Cats at King Power Stadium.

Despite failing to win since they beat Manchester United 5-3 to go seventh in the table in September, Schmeichel insists morale remains high.

"The mentality hasn't been down or anything like that," Schmeichel said.

"We are in a new league, we are getting used to it. It is a tough league, possibly the toughest in the world and we are adjusting and getting better.

"We knew it wasn't going to be easy, we knew we would get into periods where the clean sheets and goals would be hard to come by.

"It is important that you keep the faith, you keep your mentality right, head up and spirits high."
