Gordon Strachan tips Stuart McCall for managerial return
Scotland manager Gordon Strachan reckons Stuart McCall will be in demand following his Motherwell resignation.
The 50-year-old leaves Fir Park with the Steelmen second bottom of the Premiership after three successive top three finishes.
"For 95% of his managerial role at Motherwell, third, second, second - that is some going, that's terrific going," said Strachan.
"That will not go unnoticed by other clubs throughout the country."
McCall has been on the Scotland coaching staff since Strachan took over in January 2013 and will join up with the squad on Sunday as preparations begin for the European Championship qualifier with the Republic of Ireland.
"He is a terrific guy, a terrific manager and players love playing for him," added Strachan.
"That's a great thing - he has the respect of the players. He has a good way about him and links all the staff together.
"The information he gives us is absolutely invaluable.
"He is an absolutely fantastic character to have along and there is no doubt he'll be back in football soon.
"But it's nice to have a week break from it now and then, that's for sure."
McCall, who played 40 times for his country, told 91热爆 Scotland that he has no immediate plans for a return to management.
