Grant Hanley: Blackburn Rovers defender out of Scotland squad
Blackburn Rovers defender Grant Hanley has withdrawn from the Scotland squad for the 2016 European Championship qualifier in Poland on Tuesday night.
The 22-year-old suffered a knee injury in the 1-0 Group D win over Georgia at Ibrox on Saturday.
Manager Gordon Strachan has Brighton's Gordon Greer, Christophe Berra of Ipswich and Aberdeen's Mark Reynolds as possible replacements.
Poland defeated world champions Germany 2-0 in their group match on Saturday.
Hanley paired with Norwich defender Russell Martin against Georgia at Ibrox on Saturday, allowing the visitors only one real chance in the match.
Martin admits Scotland are likely to be busier in Warsaw's national stadium on Tuesday night, as he attempts to mark Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski.
"We will watch all the videos on him before Tuesday," said Martin.
"He is a fantastic player but the staff here prepare us for everything.
"Come Monday we watch him. But I'm sure we have seen enough of him in the Bundesliga with the goals he has scored to know how dangerous he is. So we will be ready.
"We get plenty of help from the lads in front of us and as a team we have to remain solid."
Lewandowski missed the March friendly between the teams through injury, with his side going down to a 1-0 defeat following Scott Brown's late strike in Warsaw.
Scotland have also won in Croatia, Macedonia and Norway under Strachan and Martin is sure they can add another away win to their record against the confident Poles.
"We have had a lot of matches like the one we will get on Tuesday over the last 18 months and they way we have dealt with them has been brilliant," he said.
"If we can keep that level up I'm confident we can get a result.
"Mentally it is a boost that we have already been to Poland this year and won. We know we can go there and do it.
"They had a couple of players missing on that night, but the way we are playing at the minute, we can be confident of going anywhere and putting in a performance that we can be proud of.
"The manager is always on to us that he wants us to put in a showing that we can be proud of. We did that against Georgia and we have to do the same against Poland on Tuesday."
