Ross County 2-1 Dundee
Darren Maatsen's stoppage-time goal gave Ross County their first league win of the season and consigned Dundee to a third defeat inside a week.
Michael Gardyne netted from close range following a Filip Kiss pass to give the hosts the lead.
David Clarkson's first goal for Dundee levelled the match in the second half, the striker firing in following Martin Boyle's pass.
But Maatsen struck to give Jim McIntyre his first win as County boss.
Defeat ends a miserable week for Dundee, who lost to city rivals Dundee United on league business on Sunday and then again in the League Cup in midweek.
County, too, went into the match licking their wounds following a cup exit at the hands of Hibernian and an opening seven Scottish Premiership games in which they had failed to win a point.
The Dingwall side's pursuit of the opening goal began with Yoann Arquin dragging a shot wide and the forward was then denied by a telling Paul McGinn tackle.
And Arquin had a hand in the opening goal, flicking the ball on for Kiss to cross and on-loan Dundee United forward Gardyne applying the finish at the back post. It was the first goal of his second spell at the club.
The visitors suffered a further setback when midfielder Jim McAlister was injured blocking a fierce Rocco Quinn shot and had to be replaced by Cameron Kerr.
Kiss directed a shot just wide before the break and the same player drew a save from Kyle Letheren early in the second period.
Dundee levelled against the run of play when Boyle raced up the right and centred for Clarkson to hook the ball past Brown.
And Paul Hartley's side almost moved into the lead as the match entered its finals stages, Brown blocking Greg Stewart's effort.
However, it was County would would prevail. Joe Cardle's pass was knocked on by Liam Boyce and Maatsen smashed the ball into the roof of the net.
