Tyrone Barnett: MacAnthony 'stunned' at Oxford deal collapse
Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony says he is "stunned" forward Tyrone Barnett did not complete a move to Oxford United on deadline day.
MacAnthony revealed Posh agreed a fee with Oxford for the 28-year-old.
However, the player failed to finalise his move before Monday's deadline.
"We had a few in for Barnett," MacAnthony told 91热爆 Radio Cambridgeshire. "We'd a fee agreed with Oxford, him and his agent did not get it over the line for whatever reason."
Barnett joined Peterborough for 拢1.2m in May 2012 and has since had loan spells at Ipswich and Bristol City.
In November 2012 he said he would be "delighted" if he never returned to the club.
"I thought it would have been a good move for him," added MacAnthony.
"Oxford are a sleeping giant and the club could do very well so I'm a bit stunned he did not go there. But hey ho, when the window opens someone else will be in for him."
