Newport County 1-1 Cambridge United
Robbie Willmott's 90th-minute equaliser earned Newport a valuable point against former club Cambridge at Rodney Parade.
Substitute Luke Chadwick's curling 48th-minute shot put the visitors ahead against the run of play before he had to limp off with a hamstring problem.
Newport dominated, but were denied by a brilliant save by Chris Dunn from Lee Minshull's header and Mark Byrne hit the bar with a long-range shot.
However, Yan Klukowski's unselfish pass presented Willmott with an open goal.
Midfielder Chadwick's contribution lasted only eight minutes after he came on for Ryan Bird at half-time, the 33-year-old being replaced in turn by Sam Whittall.
County moved up a place to 19th in League Two as their improved form continues, while Cambridge rose three places to 11th.
Newport County manager Justin Edinburgh told 91热爆 Radio Wales:
"It was the least we deserved tonight. Our performances are getting better all the time, I thought we were outstanding and to have come away with nothing would have been a travesty.
"But I'm still bitterly disappointed to only come away with a point.
"From the edge of the box and even in to their box tonight was the best we've seen for a long, long time.
"But we need to be more clinical. That's all that's missing now is that ruthless edge in the opposition's box. But I believe in the players and that will come."
