Keith Southern: Fleetwood Town sign experienced midfielder

League One newcomers Fleetwood have secured the signing of experienced midfielder Keith Southern.

The 33-year-old was a free agent after completing a two-year spell with Championship club Huddersfield.

Former Blackpool man Southern is Fleetwood's second signing since the Cod Army won promotion to the third tier via the play-offs in May.

Full-back Danny Andrew joined for an undisclosed fee from Conference Premier side Macclesfield Town.

Southern, who is approaching the milestone of 400 career appearances, told 91热爆 Radio Lancashire: "I've had other fantastic options but, for a number of reasons, this felt right.

"I'm 33 but I feel like a kid again. There's so much I want to achieve as a footballer."
