Gavin Tomlin: Crawley Town sign Port Vale striker
League One side Crawley have completed the signing of Port Vale striker Gavin Tomlin for an undisclosed fee.
The 30-year-old joined the Valiants from Southend last summer and scored six goals in 28 appearances in 2013-14.
"I have always admired Gavin," Reds boss John Gregory told
"He is a striker first and foremost with a good goalscoring record during his career but he can also play in midfield or out wide."
Tomlin began his career in non-league and joined Brentford in 2006.
He has subsequently had spells at Yeovil, Torquay, Dagenham and Gillingham. In total he has scored 44 goals in 204 Football League appearances.
"He's two-footed and has got a terrific attitude," added Gregory.
"Everyone who I spoke to about him was very complementary about him as a professional and a person. He's going to play a big part for us next season."
Crawley have not disclosed the length of Tomlin's deal.
