Dagenham & Redbridge striker Brian Woodall has left the League Two club by mutual consent.

The 26-year-old, who arrived from Gresley in the summer of 2011, had scored one goal in 10 games this season and had a loan spell at Dover Athletic.

"I would like to wish Brian all the very best," manager Wayne Burnett said.

"As his opportunities have been limited this season we felt it was best for both parties he looked to further his career with another club."

Woodall, who had 18 months remaining on his contract, scored 16 goals in 88 appearances in total for Dagenham.

Meanwhile, Burnett is keen to keep striker Rhys Murphy at Victoria Road during the transfer window.

The 23-year-old former Arsenal trainee has scored 11 goals in 23 league appearances following his move to east London this summer.

"People are going to look at him as he is a good player and a top scorer," Burnett told 91�ȱ� London 94.9.

"I'd be surprised if people aren't looking at him but we haven't heard anything yet. I want to keep him.

"We won't stand in anyone's way and that is why we attract players. But I think he is happy."

Dagenham, who avoided relegation from the Football League on the final day of last season, are currently four points off the League Two play-off places.

Burnett is keen that they continue their progress, although avoiding the drop is his first target.

"We are doing okay but we are not getting carried away," Burnett said. "We are six wins away from safety and once we get to that point I'll be happy.

"We were favourites to go down and we have surprised a few people. If we are going to continue to surprise we have to keep our best players. Hopefully we can do that."
