Hartlepool United: Colin Cooper happy with squad

Hartlepool United manager Colin Cooper believes the squad does not require a major overhaul despite winning just once in their last eight matches.

On New Year's Day, Pools were beaten 3-0 by Bury and fell seven points adrift of the League Two play-off places.

But just three days prior, they picked up three points at Morecambe.

"The squad's done well so far. I don't think performances have really dropped off. Look at the Bury match stats - we had 20 corners," he told 91热爆 Tees.

Cooper arrived as boss in May, bringing fellow ex-Boro player Craig Hignett with him as assistant manager.

After a difficult start, picking up two points from six games, Hartlepool have been between 12th and 14th since 21 October.

"Craig and I looked at each other on the touchline and basically thought 'it's not our day'," said Cooper.

"Then I looked at the bench and there are options there. Christian Burgess has and Matty Dolan should do the same soon.

"If there are additions there'll be one or two - nothing major."
