Conor Townsend: Hull defender rejoins Carlisle on loan
Hull defender Conor Townsend has joined Carlisle on loan for a second spell, this time until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old returned to his parent club in November having played 16 times in a three-month spell at Brunton Park.
The deals of Carlisle loanees Ben Amos, Craig Roddan, Tom Lawrence, Josh Morris and Max Ehmer all expired on 2 January.
"It's a boost as on top of those that left, Sean O'Hanlon, Paul Thirlwell and Courtney Meppen-Walter have knocks," Kavanagh told 91热爆 Radio Cumbria.
"Sean has a knee injury, Paul's pulled his calf and Courtney's rolled his ankle - we're the walking wounded at the moment."
Meanwhile, Carlisle have brought in former Middlesbrough and Republic of Ireland winger Alan Moore to fill their vacancy for a head of youth development.
He was previously in a similar role at League Two Bury.
"We have an audit coming up to try and attain category three youth status so this is a vital appointment," Kavanagh explained.
"If we miss out and get category four, it means we can't have a proper academy with under-16s and that would be hugely disappointing."
