Allan Moore sacked by Greenock Morton after heavy defeat
Greenock Morton have sacked manager Allan Moore following their ninth Scottish Championship defeat of the current campaign.
Morton are two points adrift at the bottom of the table following Saturday's 5-1 defeat by Livingston.
The former Stirling Albion boss took charge at Cappielow in 2010 and helped them to a second-place finish in Scotland's second tier last season.
Earlier this term, Morton beat Celtic in the Scottish League Cup.
Chairman Douglas Rae confirmed news of Moore's departure .
"It is with regret that I can confirm the contracts of our management team, Allan Moore and Mark McNally, have been terminated with immediate effect," he said.
"I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Allan and Mark for their stewardship over the past three and a half years.
"Myself, and the board of directors, wish them every success in the future and hope it's not too long before they are able to secure a position with another club."
