Shaun Derry: Notts County seek player clarification

Notts County are seeking clarification from the Football League on whether Shaun Derry could play for the club this season.

Derry, 35, was appointed player-manager 12 days ago but has already played for two clubs this season - Millwall and QPR - and is therefore not permitted to play for a third.

The midfielder played 27 minutes in the Capital One Cup for Rangers in August.

Notts say they hope to know if Derry can play "by the end of the year".
