Joe Mason: Cardiff City decide against Bolton loan deal
Joe Mason has returned to Cardiff City less than 24 hours after Bolton confirmed a loan move for the striker.
Wanderers announced on Monday that the 22-year-old had joined the Championship club until 5 January.
However, Cardiff manager Malky Mackay has now decided that he would like to keep Mason as part of his squad.
The former Plymouth man has scored 18 goals during his time with the Bluebirds, including in the 2012 League Cup final against Liverpool.
But he has made only two appearances for the Welsh club this term, both of them in the Capital One Cup.
Meanwhile another loanee from Cardiff, defender Kevin McNaughton, is set to be out for around a month with a hamstring injury.
