Ian Holloway plays down meeting with Crystal Palace chairman

Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway played down the importance of a post-match meeting with chairman Steve Parish after Monday's 4-1 home loss to Fulham.

Holloway, 50, was late for his media duties after lengthy talks with Parish.

Palace are 19th and five points adrift of safety after their seventh defeat in eight Premier League games.

Further talks were to due be held on Tuesday and Holloway said: "I'm not talking about my future at the football club. We talk all the time."

Adrian Mariappa's header put the Eagles in front at Selhurst Park, but stunning volleys from Pajtim Kasami and Steve Sidwell before half-time transformed the match and Dimitar Berbatov and Philippe Senderos struck shortly after the break.

Holloway said he spent a long time with his players following the defeat before meeting Parish.

He also confirmed he would speak further with his chairman, but said that was standard practice following a game.

"I will be speaking to him on Tuesday morning when the lads are in," he said. "It is about what is right for the football club and that is what it will always be about between me and Steve.

"We were having a meeting anyway, we always do when we have a warm-down. We will talk about some bits and pieces and learn from it. That is the meeting and that is what we always do."

Speaking before the game, Parish said Holloway's position was secure.

He told 91热爆 Radio 5 live: "Ian is the right person for our club right now."

Holloway took over at Selhurst Park in November 2012 and guided Palace to the Premier League with a play-off final victory over Watford.

He brought in 16 players during the summer but the Eagles have taken just three points from nine games this season.

Holloway has previous experience of managing in the top flight during his time at Blackpool.
