Huddersfield Town: Alex Smithies signs contract extension

Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Alex Smithies has signed a one-year contract extension, tying him to the Championship the club until 2016.

The 23-year-old, who has made 164 career appearances, has been an ever-present for the Terriers this season.

"He has been in superb form this term," boss Mark Robins told the club website.

"Alex is still a young keeper who will only get better with age and games, but he already has experience well beyond his years."
