Shwan Jalal: Oxford United sign Bournemouth keeper
Oxford United have signed Bournemouth keeper Shwan Jalal on a month's loan.
Jalal, 30, who has been at the club since 2008, has played over 150 games for the Cherries, but has lost his place in the team to Ryan Allsop.
The Baghdad-born keeper began his career at Tottenham, before spells at Woking, Peterborough and Morecambe.
"He is someone we have seen a lot over the years and we think he will do an excellent job for us," said Oxford manager Chris Wilder.
"He is six foot two, has won promotion from this division with Bournemouth and is a very good goalkeeper," he told the club website.
The signing of Jalal will provide Oxford with cover for Ryan Clarke following injuries to Max Crocombe and Wayne Brown
"It is unfortunate for Max because we think very highly of him," added Wilder.
"But Max knows that we need someone pushing Ryan while he is unavailable and Shwan fits the bill perfectly."
