Irish Premiership: Portadown 2-1 Dungannon Swifts
Portadown maintained their good early-season form by defeating Dungannon Swifts at Shamrock Park.
Darren Murray curled a shot past Gareth Buchanan into the top right hand corner after just 47 seconds and Kevin Braniff tucked home the second on 31 minutes.
Jamie Douglas rifled home from the edge of the area after meeting a David McCullough cross after 36 minutes.
Emmett Friars, Gary Twigg, Braniff and Ryan McStay failed to convert chances to extend their side's lead.
Murray took advantage of a mistake by defender Richard Copeland by running onto Braniff's back flick and shooting home in the first minute.
Twigg flashed a shot across the face of goal and Peter McMahon had an opportunity after replacing Murray, who had to come off with a hamstring injury.
The Swifts' only chance of the first half fell to Sean Lavery, but his effort was well saved by David Miskelly.
Dungannon again failed to deal with a long ball out of defence as Braniff found the net after the ball fell to him just outside the area.
After Douglas pulled one back, McCullough was denied by Miskelly and Friars brought a fine save from Buchanan.
The Ports remain second, one point behind leaders Cliftonville.
